One of Bangkok's most exclusive neighborhoods, the Lumpini area is defined by Lumpini Park, as well as its major thoroughfares: Rajadamri, Wireless, Ploenchit, Chidlom and Langsuan Roads.  Well-served by public transportation, particularly the BTS Skytrain system. and the MRT (subway), it attracts many well-to-do Thais and senior management expatriates.

Condominium prices are in the range of THB 200,000-350,000 per square meter, although properties are available at different prices points. Notable recent projects include:

Five-star hotels include The Park Hyatt, Plaza Athenee, Conrad Bangkok and Okura Prestige, on Wireless Road; Grand Hyatt Erawan, St. Regis Bangkok and Anantara Siam on Rajdamri Road; Renaissance Bangkok Ratchaprasong, InterContinental Bangkok and Centara Grand on Phloen Chit Road.

Schools in the area include Matei Dei and Triam Udom Suksa. Chulalongkorn University is nearby. Local hospitals include Bumrungrad, Chulalongkorn, and Police General.
